PCV / PSV driver training for people coming from Suffolk, Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire is within easy reach. Category D1 & D PCV / PSV driver training courses run around Ipswich in Suffolk – central to people travelling from neighbouring counties Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. Training for PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicles – the new term for Public Service Vehicles) will be provided in a full sized Minibus (D1) or full sized coach (D). Training is always on a 1 to 1 basis!
When phoning around, always check with the training provider to see if it is ‘1 to 1’ or ‘2 up’ training – do you want to share your time with someone you do not know? Will the training time be split evenly? We only provide ‘1 to 1’ training, giving you the best possible chance to pass your PCV / PSV test.
The Process
In order to obtain your PCV licence you must first have a FULL UK Category B (Car) Licence. You will then be required to take a PCV Medical Examination and have form D4 completed by a doctor – can be as much as £150 with some doctors.
You must also complete form D2(D902) and send this along with form D4 as well as your existing drivers licence to the DVLA. They will then return your licence with the provisional category entitlements.
You will then need to study for and pass your Multiple Choice, Hazard Perception and Case Studies Theory Tests.
All of the above are included in our PCV Starter Package.
Once you have passed all three theory tests we can arrange your practical training and tests.
