Intensive Driving Courses
Intensive courses are ideal for people who wish to get their practical training and test completed over a set period of time. Training will take place over an agreed number of consecutive days, with usually 5 hours of training per day and your test taking place on approximately the last hour of the last day. Courses will be tailored to suit you wherever possible and we are more than happy to split courses of 30 hours or more into 2 blocks. We can provide hourly lessons in vehicles with either manual or automatic gearboxes.
Research shows that learners who have a combination of professional instruction and private practice do better at the driving test. On average, those who pass have had 47 hours professional training, as well as 20 hours private practice. With this in mind and also how many hours training you may of already had, the table below may be used to help you decide which is the best course for you. Alternatively, it is possible for one of our instructors to take you for a 2 hour assessment lesson for just £75 to receive a professional opinion of how many hours training you require to come up to test standard.
The test contains several parts:
- Eyesight Test – Read a new style number plate from 20m
- ‘Show Me Tell Me B‘ Questions – You will be asked 2 questions from the list
- General Road Driving
- Turn in the Road, Reverse Around a Corner, Reverse Bay Park, Parallel Park – 1 will be selected
- Emergency Stop – 1 in 3 tests will be asked to demonstrate this
- An ability to demonstrate Eco-safe driving
- Independent Drive
